Wordpress Starting to Show its Age

As their aging Wordpress site started to show signs of age and difficulty in maintaining, TJ was open to alternatives for building a new one using a new website editor.

Along with his interest in a new site, TJ wanted to see if it could consolidate some of his subscriptions and allow his website to handle more of his marketing, point-of-contact, and rental paperwork services. This new site promises to be a game-changer for SYNC, offering a range of benefits that will streamline operations and enhance customer experience.

Integrating API & Other Services

SYNC utilizes Flex Rental Solutions, a cloud-based inventory management solution, to rent out a large volume of equipment and vehicles to the Los Angeles film, photo, and fashion industries. As robust as the application is, SYNC needed a solution to streamline the process of receiving new customers at their website and having it sync with Flex, in an attempt to reduce the volume of phone calls, facsimile transmissions, paperwork, and point-of-sales to run their business.

Their Wordpress site started to fulfill their needs, but eventually, the cost of plugins and lack of specific services hindered this. Integrating API and applying a gateway would have been an expensive exploration.

A New Website Editor for Website Design, Development, and Maintenance

Our choice as an editor for this site was Wix Studio. This intuitive way for agencies and enterprises to design exceptional sites with full-stack business solutions, multi-site management, and built-in AI was launched in beta mode in late 2023 and fully available to the public in the Spring of 2024.

Already familiar with the platform and its predecessor, Editor X, IAMTEEJAY was invited to participate in its development during its beta stage. After briefly interfacing with the platform, we quickly discovered that it was something special and that there was no other service like it on the website editor market.

We had to rethink how we designed our sites to adapt to the new Wix Studio. The platform allows traditional website design methods but encourages designers to utilize a new set of tools for a new website style.

Luckily, the design submitted by one of SYNC’s younger designers perfectly aligned with the capabilities new editor.

Already Packed with Services

With the website subscription, Wix already has a robust dashboard of services and tools. Its Marketing tools directly connect to Google products to bring in new customers, a CRM to connect and maintain a connection with those customers, and a platform intuitive enough to allow any programming left to the imagination. Though yet to be fully incorporated, there are plans for API to handle seamless, secure, and live data-sharing between the website and their Flex rental management tool.

We aim to have the website attract, process, and dynamically populate all the data they need to significantly reduce their current hands-on customer management, allowing them to focus on renting.
